ABOUT US

Carlo Haseltine is a journal for travel and hotels. Honest guides for the curious traveller, written by working editors, not salesmen. We book, pay for and stay in what we review, then publish the rate we paid and the parts of the trip that did not work.

Who we are

We are a small crew of travel editors, hotel reviewers and route planners who grew tired of press releases pretending to be advice. Carlo Haseltine started in 2020 as a shared notebook of hotel stays and weekend routes, passed between friends who kept asking the same question: where should I stay, and what will it really cost?

Our mission

Every week we publish free guides on trip planning, resort living, local escapes, staycation ideas and adventure routes. You get real 2026 prices, honest coverage of fees and conditions, and recommendations you can act on this afternoon, with no affiliate spin choosing the winner.

Editorial standards

No sponsored picks, no pay-to-rank lists. We buy at retail what we test, disclose any relationship before it matters, and correct mistakes in public within 48 hours. Numbers come from our own bookings and published fare and weather records, never from a brand's marketing deck. If a hotel, resort or route fails in real use, we say so.

The team

Carlo Haseltine runs the desk as founder and editor. Reporting comes from contributing hotel reviewers and route planners who file their own expenses, and every guide is checked by a second editor before it ships. None of us take payment from the properties or operators we cover.

Talk to us

Corrections, pitches and reader questions are welcome at [email protected] or through our contact page. We reply within one business day, and we read every note. If we got something wrong, tell us and we will fix it where everyone can see the change.
